Debra Wingrove is our highly skilled, enthusiastic and loving teacher. She holds an Alberta Teaching Certificate, a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Alberta, with ECE Level 3, and QECC Class "A". She is also certified in First Aid and CPR for children. Debra has more than 20 years of experience with children and is renowned for her innovative program planning and enthusiasm for learning. The fall 2004 term will mark Debra's fourth year with Springhill.
In addition to our teacher, we have a full-time, Level III Teaching Partner to assist in the classroom. Abby Gelasco is a recent graduate of the Early Childhood Development program at Grant MacEwan College. She is enthusiastic about the unique program offered at Springhill and it looking forward to continuing with Springhill and working together with Debra, Dawn, and the families. Her goal is to contribute to the innovative Learning Through Play program and to assist in the curriculum development process.
Dawn Eagles is our teacher for Monday afternoons, and she steps in as relief staff as required throughout the school year. Dawn has a diploma in Early Childhood Development and 13 years experience in the field. Dawn is committed to following the lead of the children with regard to planning a learning-through-play program at Springhill. She has a strong interest in art and has introduced a construction-based handicraft program, Crafts and Cooking, focusing on open-ended projects in her Monday afternoon classes. Journal writing continues to be an integral part of our Monday afternoon program.
There are no "duty days" for parents.
